Two people were killed Friday morning in a crash near a Mississippi interstate interchange,

WTVA in Tupelo reports that the crash happened at approximately 6:30 a.m. Friday on Highway 6 near the I-55 interchange in Batesville.

Both drivers in the accident were pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Friday evening, the names of the victims had not been released. Officials from the Panola County Coroner’s Office report that one of the drivers was from Calhoun City and the other drive was from Batesville.

The wreck remains under investigation.
