A Mississippi police lieutenant has been arrested on charges of statutory rape involving a victim under 14 years old.
On Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, Meridian Police Department Lieutenant Kevin Michael Boyd was arrested.
The arrest followed a complaint filed with the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services on May 16th, 2024, alleging that Boyd molested a twelve-year-old girl.
The investigation provided sufficient evidence to charge Boyd with the crime. After a judge signed the arrest warrant, Sheriff Moore coordinated with the Meridian Police Department to arrange Boyd’s surrender at the sheriff’s department in DeKalb.
Boyd’s initial court appearance is scheduled for today at the Kemper County Courthouse.
