Police: Gun fires in Cracker Barrel restaurant after falling out of customer’s purse

Officials say a gun accidentally went off after it reportedly fell out of a customer’s purse at a Mississippi Cracker Barrel on Sunday.
Police in Pearl responded to a report of shots fired at the popular restaurant. Authorities responded promptly to the call and, upon arrival, determined that the incident was an accidental discharge of a firearm.
According to a witness, the gun accidentally went off after it fell out of a woman’s purse. Fortunately, no one was injured in the mishap.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Pearl Police Department said they are assessing whether any charges will be filed. The department also issued a reminder to gun owners, saying, “If you are going to conceal carry, please use caution and remember to safely transport and conceal the firearm.”
The statement concluded with a lighthearted note, reassuring patrons, “Thankfully, nobody was injured and all the front porch checkers games are able to resume!”
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of gun safety, particularly in public spaces.
