Ole Miss alum Sly Lee makes Forbes' 30 Under 30 list
Oxford native and University of Mississippi graduate Sly Lee landed a spot on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list this year for his groundbreaking work in developing augmented reality hardware.
Lee, who graduated from Oxford High School in 2007 and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in pharmacy from Ole Miss, lives in Los Angeles where he co-founded tech company Emerge.
While augmented reality is nothing new, Forbes selected Lee for his work in developing AR hardware that allows users to physically touch virtual objects without wearables or controllers.
“Instead, it uses a proprietary tech to create precise force fields mid-air,” according to Forbes. “This allows users to physically feel shapes, volumes and even textures.”
Not bad for a 28-year-old.
