Mississippians eagerly await one of the year’s most notable events, as Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival makes its grand return on March 23, 2024, in downtown Jackson.

The official theme for this year’s celebration is “Telling the Mississippi Story,” highlighting the state’s rich and unique cultural heritage. Leading the parade as the Grand Marshal is distinguished WJTV broadcaster, accomplished author, and proud Mississippian Walt Grayson. As in previous years, the parade and festival will raise funds for Children’s of Mississippi.

“Now in its 41st year, this parade is the people’s parade,” says Malcolm White, Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival Founder. “It is a time for everyone to come together and celebrate this place we call home. We can’t wait to share this event with our community and support Children’s of Mississippi and the great work they do in our own backyard.”

Safety and security are a top priority this year and all years. Capitol Police, Hinds County Sheriff’s Department, and Capitol Police are joining forces to patrol downtown to ensure that all have a safe celebration.
