Mississippi Skies: Plenty of variety in our weather forecast

Published 10:32 pm Wednesday, March 20, 2024

Thursday will be our day of transition this week as our cool, dry, sunny weather ends and moisture returns. We’ll be more humid with warming temperatures. Clouds will move in by Thursday night in the north and Thursday during the day in the south as a low travels along the coast.

Many, but not all, of us will get some rain between Thursday and Friday night. Rain will end by Saturday morning, and Saturday night will be several degrees cooler with 30s in the northern half of Mississippi. We’re not expecting severe weather with this round.

Palm Sunday should be gorgeous, then we’ll transition again to stormy weather Monday. Right now, we’re expecting rain across much of the state, but the event early next week could be a little more interesting. Models are showing storms are possible and we’ll have to watch to see if we get the possibility of some strong to severe weather.
