Authorities are reportedly searching for a former Mississippi police officer who they believe shot and killed a man Tuesday morning.

WAPT News in Jackson reports that officials are looking for Marcus Johnson, a former JPD officer who resigned from the agency in 2013.

Johnson is wanted in connection with a Tuesday morning shooting at Tapestry Northridge Apartments on Parkway Drive in North Jackson.

Police report that Carlos Collins was shot and killed during the incident.

According to family members, Collins had filed several restraining orders against the Johnson. Collins was reportedly a registered nurse from Yazoo County.
