Joint Mississippi operation nets 14 arrests, discovery of loaded AR-15 style rifle and other illegal weapons

Fourteen people were arrested Wednesday in a joint operation of the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and Mississippi Highway Patrol.

The Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office posted about what they described on social media as “a mass saturation detail that spreaded all across Yazoo County.”

The post detailed the number and nature of the arrests that were made:
8 – DUI Other
1- DUI refusal
1- Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony)
1- Tampering with evidence
5- Marijuana in a motor vehicle
There were three illegally possessed weapons taken off the streets.

One AR-15 style weapon had a “switch” installed on it with over 50 rounds of ammunition.

“These kinds of weapons are very dangerous and we are very glad to be able to successfully get them off the streets,” the pots said. “These proactive collaborations will drive the criminal element out of Yazoo County and make this place safe again. There will be much more to come!!!”
