Finding love later in life, a Mississippi couple marries at the senior center where they first met
Newlyweds Henry and Judy Walker didn’t plan on finding love again, and certainly not at the Vicksburg Senior Center where they met three years ago.
But that’s exactly what happened, making it official Sunday by exchanging vows at the place where they first met.
“I was adamant and I told everybody, never again,” Henry, 76, told The Vicksburg Post. “I said I’m too old. You see how that goes.”
Judy, 74, visited the senior center daily, seeing Henry when he’d stop in twice a week to play dominos and card games. Their friendship soon developed into something more.
“We just couldn’t stay away from each other,” Judy said. “I didn’t until I met him think I would ever fall in love again. He was caught before he knew it.”
When they decided to get married, there was only one place that made sense for the ceremony and reception.
“(The senior center) is where we met, where a lot of our friends are and a good place to have it where people know where it’s at,” Henry said.
