This Mississippi hotel has earned AAA’s Four Diamond Rating for more than 30 years

Monmouth Historic Inn in Natchez has earned another Four Diamond Rating from AAA, making it one of seven Mississippi hotels to earn the rating over the past year.

What makes Monmouth’s rating even more impressive is that it’s the only Southern hotel to maintain a Four Diamond Rating—reserved for just 3.9 percent of nearly 60,000 hotels and restaurants AAA reviews—for more than 30 years (38 in 2018).

Monmouth’s growing list of awards and accolades include being a charter member of the Southern Living Hotel Collection, as well as being named the No. 1 hotel in Mississippi by the U.S. News & World Report for three years running.

In addition to Monmouth Historic Inn, others in Mississippi to earn AAA’s Four Diamond Rating include a handful of Biloxi hotels (Beau Rivage Resort & Casino; Hard Rock Hotel & Casino; IP Casino Resort; Palace Casino Resort Hotel), along with The Alluvian in Greenwood and Jackson’s Fairview Inn.

“Four Diamond-rated hotels are stylish and refined with upscale physical attributes,” according to a AAA press release. “Guests receive personalized attention from an experienced staff enhancing an extensive array of amenities in a luxurious setting. Four Diamond hotels account for 6.1 percent of the more than 27,000 AAA Inspected & Approved and Diamond Rated hotels.”

Four Biloxi restaurants earned Four Diamond Ratings, including BR Prime, Jia, thirty-two and Tien. Hattiesburg’s Purple Parrot Cafe also made the list.

“Restaurants at the Four Diamond level offer a distinctive fine dining experience,” states the AAA press release. “Creative chefs, imaginative menus, fresh top-quality ingredients and expert staff distinguish these establishments.”
